Spring Break

Cool Slideshows

During Spring Break, I really enjoyed the chance to spend some extra time with my friends and fellow teachers. The Saturday night before (I considered it the first day of spring break:), Betty and I decided we wanted to go to Asan Park Beach to watch the sunset. Watching the sunset has quickly become one of my favorite things to do. Besides the fact that they are soooo beautiful (even if they are covered up with clouds, you know they are beautiful on the other side), but they are such a reminder of God's goodness and faithfulness to me. When the time finally came to head out, we had a total of 10 people going with us. Not my normal size group to go watch the sunset with, but we had a really good time and I loved having everyone along. When we got there, we discovered that another group of our friends were having a cook out there to celebrate their daughter's second birthday! They saw us walking in the park and invited us to join...that's the Guam way (you can join any fiesta whether you know anyone or not if you just have a friendly personality:). So while they finished grilling the hot dogs, we serenaded them on our ukes and guitars.

Tuesday night a group of us went up to Top of the Mar (a restraunt at the top of one of our mountains here) to enjoy another of the Lord's beautiful sunsets while we ate our supper. By that point I was beginning to feel a bit sick due to the vog (volcanic fog blown down from a volcano that eruped on another island) and spent the rest of the week at home or next door in my classroom. I am so thankful that it was spring break and I had plenty of time to rest. It just makes me smile all over everytime I think of how good the Lord is to me!

Reunion Tea Party!

Cool Slideshows

My girls from last year had a reunion tea party in November. It was a lot of fun for everyone. Unfortunately, I don't think I can do this every year as I had originally planned. But this particular class is special to me:) They are a great group of kids and my first class.

Fish Eye Field Trip!

On February first, we took a field trip to Fish Eye Underwater Observatory. The kids really enjoyed looking around at all of the fish in the ocean and especially enjoyed the fish on the computer! Next, it was off to Asan Beach for a picnic and play time! Some of the kids chose to bring kites, other brought their balls. Eventually, all of the children ended up on the beach looking for duk duks (crabs) and seashells. We had a great day and at the end of the day, many of the kids were obviously warn out and ready for a little nap.
